Raben Ukraine has increased cargo transportation in the direction of Poland-Ukraine 4-fold y-o-y

26/ 11/ 2020
During 2020, Raben Ukraine increased shipment of goods in Poland-Ukraine direction by 4 times compared to the same period last year. Accordingly, the volume of customs clearance of imported goods on the basis of Raben Ukraine consolidation platform in Lviv (Western Ukraine) increased too. The company carries out regular transportation of groupage cargo in the direction of Chlebnia (Poland) - Lviv (Ukraine) every Tuesday. “At the end of 2019, we decided to strengthen our presence in the western region of our country. Having an extensive distribution network in Ukraine with x-docks in all regional centres, the company decided to make the most of its advantages and increase the possibilities of international delivery to the regions. Current situation in the country and the work in the new reality indicate that the development of the groupage line to Lviv during this period was the right decision. Demand for groupage delivery has grown exponentially as many customers are forced to split up their shipments due to the declining production,” – comments Svitlana Shypil, Road Network East Director of Raben Ukraine. The city of Lviv is the closest point to the Polish-Ukrainian border, where Raben Ukraine has its own branch. On its basis, a consolidation platform was opened for receiving imported goods. This significantly reduced the time of delivery of goods to Western Ukraine from Europe, so now customers have the opportunity to receive the goods in a few hours after crossing the border. At the same time Raben Ukraine continues to successfully serve customers from other regions of the country, using the capacity of the main logistics centre located in the city of Velyka Dymerka near Kyiv. In Lviv, as well as in Kyiv, specialists offer customers a comprehensive service – international delivery, customs clearance at Lviv terminal, deconsolidation of groupage cargo at the company’s depot, delivery to final recipients. It means that first the goods arrive at the customs terminal, then they are cleared “just-in-time” and on the same day reach the company’s cross-dock in Lviv, so that the next morning customers across the western region could get them. The customs clearance takes on average 2-3 hours and the transit time of delivery from Poland amounts to 24-36 hours. “A distinctive feature of our service is flexibility in customer service. We load goods in Europe in any city, regardless of the number of pallets, and within the time specified by the customer”, – explains Svitlana Shypil, Road Network East Director of Raben Ukraine. Raben Ukraine’s client portfolio includes companies that import a wide variety of goods. As a part of groupage cargo, the company offers delivery of the foodstuff demanding a controlled temperature mode with a proper commodity proximity, among others. “The growth of goods transportation has led to corresponding changes in our internal infrastructure. A department has been set up aimed exclusively at the sale of international transportation in this region, and next year we intend to fully staff the operational division of international distribution in Lviv. If we talk about the development of groupage cargo in general, we are currently actively monitoring market demands and customer needs for export groupage shipments. We plan to launch an export groupage line from Ukraine to Poland soon. Based on our customer demand we will see whether this will be done on the basis of a logistics complex in Kyiv or the one in Lviv,” – adds Svitlana Shipil, Road Network East Directorof Raben Ukraine. Increasing the volume of shipments, Raben Ukraine at the same time actively introduces new IT products. Currently, the company’s specialists are working on launching a new online service that will allow to calculate the cost of delivery from any remote point in Europe to Ukraine, with a minimum of logistical data and in a few minutes. In the near future, this service will be available on the corporate website in MyRaben.com platform. Raben Ukraine has been working on the logistics market since 2003. It offers a full range of logistic services for contract logistics, international and domestic transportation as well as sea and air freight services. The company has about 500 employees. It also has about 70 000m² of warehouse space (including regions) and about 600 vehicles at own disposal.
