24/ 09/ 2018
On September, 24 EBA Dnipro office held the joint meeting of Legal and Marketing & Communications Committees on countering information raiding and non-standard methods of solving this problem. The meeting was initiated by Concord Bank with a target to unite regional business entities and discuss legal business practices for counteracting unfair actions, spreading false information, in particular by organizing rallies, providing non-correct information in mass media and social networks, etc., in order to damage business reputation. Yurii Zadoia, the First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Concord Bank, as the meetings moderator, started his speech: “In the framework of our meeting, we would like to share our experience of counteracting information raiding and obtain the support of the authorities to work together and develop business in our region”. Olga Zenina, the Chair of the EBA Dnipro Marketing and Communications Committee, underlined that: “In this situation, we must act competently, discuss our further steps and work out a map of actions in confrontation with such kind of planned PR actions”. Participants of the meeting also got useful advice from professional lawyers of Absolut Law Agency on legal protection algorithms that can be applied in similar situations. It is very important to say that local government officials actively participated in this event: Ms. Oksana Tomchuk, Acting Head of the SFS General Directorate in the Dnipropetrovsk region; Mr. Volodymyr Bohonis, Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Dnipropetrovsk region; Mr. Andriy Kalyuzhnyi, Head of the Patrol Police Department in the Dnipropetrovsk region; Ms. Alla Kefel, Head of the Unit in the Department of Economic Development of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration; and Mr. Vyacheslav Yednak, Deputy Head of the Department at the Prosecutors Office of the Dnipropetrovsk region. We sincerely thank them for their support and valuable comments about the existing business protection mechanisms under the current legislation against unscrupulous information attacks. We also want to thank Concord Bank for their initiative and organizational assistance; Olga Zenina, the Chair of the EBA Dnipro Marketing and Communications Committee, for useful information; and LA Absolut for their legal expertise.
