Representatives of BDO in Ukraine at the conference “Finance for business in times of war”

  The importance of financial support for businesses in Ukraine takes new shape within the context of the challenges caused by the war, highlighting the need for the countrys recovery and reconstruction. In this light, on February 8th at 9:30 a.m., Kyiv time, the conference “Financing Business During War: Ways to Ukraines Recovery” took place, gathering business representatives both in Kyiv and online. Organized by the European Business Association and the Independent Association of Banks of Ukraine with the support of international donors, including USAIDs “Investments for Business Resilience” project and the IFCs “Asset Based Finance” project, the conference focused on critical issues related to financing and reconstructing Ukraine. Speakers included government representatives, international experts, bank sector  employees, and business leaders, who shared their knowledge and experience in key areas: Examination of the regulatory environment and risk mitigation instruments that facilitate business financing during the war. Analysis of business needs for financial services necessary for their recovery and development. Discussion of lending and grant programs, with a special focus on green recovery and the implementation of ESG standards. The conference included panel discussions, Q&A sessions, and networking opportunities, providing participants with a unique platform for exchanging ideas and finding effective solutions for financing and reconstructing business in Ukraine during this critical time. Vira Savchenko, CEO of BDO in Ukraine, spoke at one of the panel discussions on opportunities and ways to finance business in the context of military operations, with the topic “War Risk Insurance for Business in Ukraine”.
