The EBA representative joined an off-site parliamentary discussion on current issues in the timber market

  On October 25, the European Business Associations Committee Manager, Yuriy Andriiv, participated in a working trip to Rivne Region to attend the roundtable “The State of Ukraines Woodworking and Furniture Industries in Wartime Conditions.” Discussion participants included Dmytro Natalukha, Head of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Development, and Bohdan Kytsak, Head of the Subcommittee on the Adaptation of Ukrainian Legislation to EU Law (EU acquis) and the Fulfillment of Ukraine’s International Legal Obligations in European Integration under the Committee on Economic Development. The updated draft law “On the Timber Market” was presented during the roundtable. The participants also discussed the importance of developing the woodworking industry to ensure the stable operation of the Ukrainian economy and addressed the issue of timber trading arrangements during wartime. The working trip also included visits to furniture factories and companies, such as the Danish furniture factory Hjort Knudsen, the international furniture company Morgan Feniche, and the global particle board manufacturer Kronospan. The European Business Association extends its gratitude to Bohdan Kytsak, Dmytro Natalukha, and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine’s Committee on Economic Development for the invitation, as well as to the USAID RADA program for organizing the event and engaging the business community!
