The Southern Ukrainian Office of the European Business Association joined the “Export Connect: Exporter Support System in the Regions” initiative

28/ 09/ 2026
On 23 September, together with representatives of businesses, public institutions and other stakeholders of the regional export support ecosystem, we took part in the final coordination meeting at the Regional Development Agency of Odesa Region. The meeting focused on the results of the initiative, the current needs of exporters and priority areas of work for 2027. Odesa region has significant export potential and plays an important role in Ukraine’s foreign trade. The region covers 33.3 thousand km² and has a population of approximately 2.3 million people. In 2024, its share of Ukraine’s total exports amounted to 4.4%, while the region accounts for 5.7% of Ukraine’s population. In 2025, the region’s net income reached UAH 670.4 billion. Wholesale trade, agriculture and transport are among the key sectors of the regional economy. These sectors also contribute significantly to the region’s export potential, alongside food processing and metalworking. Notably, several EBA member companies are among the Top 10 exporters of Odesa region in 2025. Delta Wilmar Ukraine ranked first with UAH 18.29 billion in net income, Vitmark-Ukraine ranked sixth with UAH 4.15 billion, and Risoil Ukraine ranked seventh with UAH 3.34 billion. The data is based on YUS.Market figures as of 1 January 2026. This highlights the direct presence of the EBA business community among the companies contributing to Odesa region’s export potential. Our members operate in food processing, agriculture, logistics and other key sectors of the regional economy, supporting the access of Ukrainian products to international markets. The meeting also covered access to support programmes, opportunities for companies seeking to enter and scale up in international markets, as well as further coordination between businesses and public institutions. The Southern Ukrainian Office of EBA will continue working to ensure that the voice of the region’s business community is represented in these processes and that the proposals developed through such dialogue are translated into practical solutions and new opportunities for companies. We thank the organisers and all participants for the meaningful dialogue and joint efforts to strengthen the export potential of Odesa region.
