19/ 04/ 2024
On April 19, 2024, the first regional Job Fair for war Veterans and persons with disabilities was held at the State educational institution Odesa Center of Vocational and Technical Education” of the State Employment Service. The event was organized by the Southern Ukrainian office of the European Business Association in partnership with the NGO National Health and Safety Council, the EBA member company Paramedic, Odesa regional and city employment centers, municipal institution Odesa Regional Center for Assistance to War Veterans, Regional Development Agency of Odesa Region, Prostranstvo Group of Companies, the Association of Employers Organizations of the Odesa region and the NGO Rehabilitation Management Association.  The event was aimed at the employment of our respected Veterans and persons with disabilities, and allows us to better understand the problems and needs faced by these categories of persons, and to contribute to highlighting opportunities and creating conditions for their full recovery and integration in society.  Kateryna Morozova, head of the EBA Southern Ukrainian Office, gave a welcome speech at the event, noting that the heads of companies where Veterans already work characterize those who stood up for the defense of Ukraine as people with a pronounced civic position, a keen sense of justice, straightforward, disciplined, responsible. Business owners and leaders cite many of the skills Defenders learned during military service as useful for civilian jobs, such as teamwork, critical thinking, technical skills, and much more. On the part of employers, priority in employment for demobilized Veterans is noted as a good trend. In addition, they are given additional vacations, individual work schedules, many employers adapt workplaces to the needs of Veteran employees, carry out their retraining.  The Southern Ukrainian Office of the European Business Association is extremely grateful to the Veteran participants, all co-organizers and the EBA member companies who joined and presented their available vacancies, namely: HR Agency Key People, Delta Wilmar Ukraine, DTEK, Shell Mobility in Ukraine, UKRSIBBANK BNP Paribas Group, Kernel, MTB Bank, Agenciya Bezpeki Centr, Transinvestservice.  We are sure that this event opened up new opportunities for all participants and will be reflected in the professional integration of our esteemed war Veterans and persons with disabilities. After all, this Job Fair has become not only a platform for finding new jobs, but also a joint effort to support and recognize those who have made an important contribution to our society and security!
