Pension can be received at the cash register of the shop if the NBU makes appropriate changes

28/ 04/ 2020
The experts of the European Business Association call on the National Bank of Ukraine to make changes as soon as possible, that will simplify the procedure for registering cash transfers at outlet offices. According to the Account book such transactions can now only be performed if they are recorded in the Account book. Senior associate at ADER HABER Iaroslava Lagan explains that the enterprises that use registrars of settlement can provide citizens with services for withdrawing money and issuing cash from the cahier’s office. In other words, Ukrainians have the opportunity to withdraw cash from their card immediately at the register of the store. But this procedure must be registered in the Account book. The lawyer says: “This condition is indeed onerous for business. But the thing is that the Account book has to record the amount of the proceeds on a daily basis. Otherwise, cash will be treated as unoccupied, and for the errors in the Account book and its improper handling, a fine will be imposed”. Therefore, according to the expert, the proposal of the business to abolish the requirements of the NBU to register cash transfers at the cashiers offices in the Account book - would be a positive step. And especially useful under quarantine conditions, because it can facilitate not only cash but also social payments or pensions without bank visits «On the other hand, I assume that the elimination of this requirement will not lead to a significant extension of such services in the large cities of Ukraine, where it is now possible to withdraw cash in a wide network of Atms without a commission. Besides, in Ukraine the popularity of non-cash settlements grows every day», - Yaroslava Lagan summarized.
