OTP Bank handed over scarce consumables for the amount of UAH 1 million to the “Kyiv City Center of Nephrology and Dialysis”

16/ 01/ 2023
OTP Bank transferred to the Kyiv City Center of Nephrology and Dialysis scarce consumables for the acute hemodialysis machine for the amount of about UAH 1 million. The project was implemented on the platform of the OTP Bank Helps Ukraine charity initiative. Funds were donated by 170 benefactors from 16 countries. Hemodialysis is the blood purification from toxic substances, the consequences of an infectious process, one of the most effective methods of helping with mine-explosive injuries (with a burn component included), due to the use of high-energy weapons. Another name for hemodialysis is artificial kidney, because this device during the procedure replaces the function of the kidneys and partially the liver in detoxifying the body, removing toxins and excess fluid. The procedure of cleaning the blood outside the body of the wounded person allows to increase the survival in the case of severe trauma, burn disease, sepsis, which rank first among combat pathologies. To remind, among the numerous previously implemented activities within the scope of the OTP Bank Helps Ukraine project are: the purchase of two lung ventilators for the Pirogov First Mobile Hospital, fundraising for the purchase of two sets of protective clothing against X-ray radiation for the surgery of the City Clinical Hospital No. 6 of the Dnipro City Council, the initiative Get a child refugee ready to school for children from migrant families of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, fundraising for arranging a shelter for the Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of Children in Khmilnytsia village, Chernihiv Region, purchase of bedding sets for the Smila Care Home, as well as the large project To heroes’ kids. In its frames OTP Bank Helps Ukraine charity project, together with the Estonian online gallery of modern paintings plARTform, organized an online auction of paintings by Ukrainian artists Faces, Colors and Shadows of War and collected funds for the children of heroes who died defending Ukraine.
