OTP Bank organized trainings on pre-medical aid for employees

25/ 05/ 2023
The employees of OTP Bank have completed the Basic course of medical care. The trainings were conducted by the certified company FAST First aid and special training. So far, more than 100 employees of the bank in Kyiv have attended the trainings, and everyone who wanted could join. A little later, a basic medical course will be held for employees of other regions’ branches. For training, employees of OTP Bank were divided into groups, each of which worked out actions and measures aimed at saving human life during one working day. In particular, FAST instructors told what the algorithm is for helping a person who is unconscious, without signs of breathing, with injuries of various degrees of severity. Bank employees learned to use tourniquets to stop critical bleeding, perform indirect heart massage, apply bandages, check breathing, etc. There are only a few minutes to save a life. I didnt think about it, but now Im sure that everyone should have basic first aid skills, especially today. Now I already know how to use tourniquets, I know the algorithm for providing aid in case of critical bleeding or respiratory arrest, I understand how to act when a person loses consciousness. I highly recommend such training and repeating it every year, said Lesya Syrota, OTP Banks retail business sales director and team leader of the OTP Bank Helps Ukraine charity project, who participated in one of the trainings in Kyiv. Being able to provide first aid is a useful skill. Thanks to the Defense Forces, most citizens are protected from everyday military risks. But we still lose about 3,000 lives in road accidents, thousands of citizens receive domestic and industrial injuries. Our country is the most mined country in the world. All this obliges us to be ready for salvation. An important, leading role is played here by responsible businesses that train their employees in first aid, do everything necessary so that they do not get confused in a critical situation and stop the massive bleeding so that the victim waits for the medics. FAST instructors work in an enhanced mode. Last year, we taught first aid to 12,000 people from more than 100 Ukrainian and international companies. We work to ensure that as many people as possible are not eyewitnesses to emergency situations, but rescuers. I sincerely thank each and every one who helps us in this, said Fedir Serdyuk, co-founder of FAST First Aid and Special Training.
