EBA Dnipro Webinar: Abolition of the Commercial Code: Consequences for Leases and Supplies

09/ 04/ 2026
On April 9, the EBA Dnipro hosted a specialized webinar featuring experts from Forvis Mazars in Ukraine, Tetiana Levkivska, Head of Legal Practice, and Liliia Makarchuk, Legal Consultant. The discussion focused on the practical implications of repealing the Commercial Code of Ukraine (CCU) and its impact on how businesses handle lease and supply agreements. The abolition of the Civil Code of Ukraine has significantly affected the approaches to concluding contracts: from now on, key regulation is carried out by the norms of the Civil Code of Ukraine, special laws and the principle of freedom of contract. On the one hand, this opens up more opportunities for businesses to flexibly regulate relations between the parties, and on the other, it increases the requirements for the quality of contractual wording and legal foresight. In addition to the current changes, the participants discussed strategies for preparing for the upcoming modernization of the Civil Code of Ukraine. A proactive position allows businesses not only to react to changes, but also to build a sustainable legal architecture in advance. The EBA Dnipro expresses its gratitude to the experts of Forvis Mazars in Ukraine for their in-depth analysis and valuable webinar for the community!
