Most important insights we have learned in 26 years of successful work as an IT company
A quarter century of stable work in the IT industry is more than just a number. It is a story of trials and achievements, transformations and growth that has become a school of leadership and responsibility for us.
Over the years, we have grown up with an entire era of technology, watched the world change, and worked hard to be a part of that change.
We decided to ask our employees what were the most important insights they had learned over the 26 years of our successful IT company. Their answers were not only a reflection of our experience, but also a testament to how much we have achieved together. So, how does Telesens manage not only to stay afloat, but also to become a stronger and more successful company every time?
Eduard Rubin, Founder
Over the past 26 years, we have realized that the most valuable thing in our company is our people (and, of course, our coffee from the coffee machine). Our talented and dedicated professionals are what make us special and keep our servers running smoothly even at 3 am.
We made sure that constant learning and readiness for new technologies help us to keep ourselves at the forefront of the industry (and not to mistake “bugs” for “features”). And our relationships with our clients have grown into a true partnership where we achieve success together and know all our favorite IT jokes.
Natalya Gnesina, CFO
These 26 years have been the coolest experience of my professional life. And not only professional. Over the years, we have learned to be a team that does not stop in front of any challenges. We know how to build partnerships with clients and maintain them for decades.
We have learned not to be afraid of huge projects, seemingly invincible competitors, and a supposedly insidious job market. But most importantly, we have learned to trust, hear, and understand each other from a word. Despite the sometimes thorny path, we have learned to overcome difficulties and gain new experiences with a smile!
Olesia Ulianova, CEO
In 26 years, we have realized several things.
Crisis or force majeure circumstances push us forward. It would be difficult to imagine participating in the projects we have now if it were not for COVID-19 or the war. We have learned to show some courage in the face of difficulties.
The team’s responsibility and concern for the result are our everything. No matter how difficult or incomprehensible it may be, the team always finds a way out or generates a new solution to the problem. We do not even enter our comfort zone.
Stress resistance is not an empty or popular word for us. We overcome problems every day – small or big. Sometimes it takes several rounds of brainstorming to achieve what we want, but each of us knows that it is necessary.
Nataliia Plyha, HR Director
Telesens is about people. For many of us, it’s a second family, with an atmosphere of friendship, support and understanding. Golden people who always help each other and the guys who protect us. Telesens has a large number of loyal employees who have been with the company for decades. Therefore, stability is our advantage.
Yevhen Shevchenko, Head of IT-Infrastructure
We have learned 3 key things.
The client is our partner. We realized that a successful project is built on close cooperation with the client. And a reputation built on good cooperation is the biggest asset we have been developing over the years.
Security comes first. In a world of cyber threats, security is the fundamental basis of every product we make.
Stability and faith in the future. The company has continued to operate in difficult times over the years. I am confident that at least the next 26 years will be just as successful.
Olena Burlutska, Chief of Accounting
Telesens is already a second family, where we go through various events, ups and downs together. And we are moving forward with our friendly team for the sake of the company. Eduard Rubin was, is and will be our powerful engine in the company for many years to come.
Many years have passed, a large number of specialists worked for the company, and the majority of them fondly recall their time here.
Oleksii Ilchenko, Head of Implementation & Support Division
Among all the important points, I can highlight three:
An atmosphere of support and teamwork. A healthy team climate promotes productive interaction and quick resolution of work issues. Friendly relations and respect allow employees to freely share ideas and help each other.
Continuous development and training. The company maintains a culture of self-education, where employees learn on their own, improve their skills and master new technologies, which helps to maintain the competitiveness and flexibility of the team.
Service quality and customer focus. A high level of support quality is the best tool for attracting and retaining customers.
Kostiantyn Pashchenko, Head of Legal Office
Employees (even former employees) are highly committed to the company — this is what is now called loyalty.
The ability of the company to quickly adapt to changes (often for the worse) in business or legal conditions in the market, threatening and harmful actions of third parties.
The exceptional ability to find non-obvious optimal ways out of crisis situations.
Yuliia Pashchuk, Head of Recruiting
Over 26 years, Telesens has also developed certain recruiting principles that have become another key to success.
Customer focus and candidate orientation are the foundation for successful development for any company, and ours is no exception. The ability to hear the needs of the client, understand the desires of the candidates and skillfully manage common expectations is the main and strongest component of all members of the technical recruiting team.
A qualified personal recruiting brand in the IT field. Each of our team members has a high-quality personal portfolio in the market and a common qualification brand.
High-quality ambitions that overlap business needs and personal skills – a unique competence to hear the business’s desires in the format of account development/expansion and to be able to find suitable candidates who will move in the plane of common dynamics, realizing their ambitions and consistently holding the lead in the eyes of the customer.
Working together for results means understanding how we can achieve a quality result, having the ability to hear each other and come to a joint decision that will be most beneficial for both parties.
The «on the same page» culture is a skill that develops the openness of thinking, approaches and skills. The desire is to be on the same page with all participants in the process, but not to lose sight of the main goal: to be useful for the business, candidates and the overall well-being of the company.
Halyna Zakharchenko, Head of Administration
Telesens is a team of polite, hardworking, smart, friendly people who are ready to work and help others. I sincerely wish the entire team good health, well-being, continuous progress, inspiration, optimism, confidence in the future, inspiration in their daily work, realization of creative plans, new achievements, brilliant ideas and real opportunities for their implementation.
Yana Kuznechenkova, Senior TIBS Manual QA
Over 26 years of work, we have come to one key conclusion: we are lucky to have people. All that we have achieved has been made possible by our people, their dedication, professionalism and desire to grow. It is about teamwork, mutual support and a common goal that allows us to create products that change the market and meet the highest standards.
Andrii Nabokin, Head of TIBS Development Department
As the experience of 26 years has shown, the path to the company’s success is not in the stability of the team, but in a skilful balancing on the crest of the wave. After all, you always need periodic changes, new ideas and visions, and new breath.
As Lewis Carroll said: «It takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place». Paradoxical as it may sound from the point of view of physics, this is exactly how it works in the IT industry.
In this race, someone lags behind, someone chooses to go the other way, someone joins in to run some distance together. The main thing in all this is not to forget that we are people. People who need to rest not only to catch their breath (preferably with friends) but also to analyze the time covered, not the distance. It doesn’t matter where you run to, what matters is that you enjoy the process. And then you can only make plans and find dreams for the future.
Tamara Polinok, Accountant
The company is a good confirmation that it is very important when people believe in you. When you are supported, especially in times of great need. United team that sets goals, moves forward no matter what and achieves its goal! And believes in victory.
To be continued
To summarize, the main insight of these 26 years is the power of unity, trust and openness to change. Each of us has contributed to the overall success, and each insight is not only a lesson but also an incentive for further development.
The secret to our sustainability and growth lies in our ability to learn from each other, to step forward with confidence and to always put quality and innovation first. We look forward to new achievements and new insights that will continue to shape our history because Telesens is forever!
