MOST LT reported about acceptance of cargoes from Lithuania to Ukraine transiting through Poland

10/ 02/ 2022
The Kaunas – Mostyska corridor is becoming an alternative route for the delivery of cargoes from Lithuania to Ukraine (transiting through Poland), taking into account the situation with the prohibition of transit of some commodity groups through the territory of Belarus. In Lithuania, namely in Kaunas, already operates intermodal terminal with a railway track width of 1435 mm, which handles goods arriving from or departing to other European countries. Thanks to the direct connection with Ukraine, we can talk about the “Kaunas-Mostyska” corridor. Now it is the fastest way for rail delivery of shipments from Lithuania to Ukraine. In this case, cargoes go through Poland by transit, say experts of the logistics center MOST LOGISTIC TERMINAL, located on the border with Poland (station Mostyska-II, Lviv Railway). The width of the narrow track in Kaunas is 1435 mm – it is the same as in the MOST LT logistics hub. It is the compatibility of railway systems that satisfies the needs of businessmen from both sides. There are covered warehouses and open areas for the storage of goods at the terminal. Fast and high-quality cargo handling, a wide range of available services, modern terminal equipment, maximum service quality standards, make this transport corridor the best way to deliver goods from Europe to Ukraine by rail.
