Charity auction at OTP BANK: employees collected a million hryvnias for the Kharkiv Perinatal Center

10/ 12/ 2024
Employees of OTP BANK JSC collected UAH 1 million at an internal charity auction for the purchase of an incubator for the Kharkiv Regional Perinatal Center. This equipment is extremely important for a medical institution, as it is designed to save the lives of premature babies. The Banks charity auction is being held online for the third year in a row. If in 2022 a separate Telegram channel was created for this purpose, where bidding was conducted between employees, then in 2023 and 2024 auctions were implemented simply in the OTP Bank UA app. No Ukrainian bank has such experience - holding charity auctions in app so we are very proud of this. But we are most happy that together, with joint efforts, we collected all the necessary sums for the purchase of an incubator for the Kharkiv region in order to save the lives of babies. Every tenth child in Ukraine is born prematurely, and the war deepens this problem even more. So buying an incubator is a big deal that inspires us all to continue to increase the good in the world. Thank you for the help and support of our reliable long-term partner CF Blagomay, together we manage to implement such important initiatives for the country”, - said team leader of the OTP Bank Helps Ukraine charity project and director of retail sales and network management of OTP BANK Lesia Syrota. During auction, employees compete with each other for lots from their colleagues: paintings, New Years toys, books with signatures of famous writers, collectible coins, jewelry. However, it was also possible to participate in a charity initiative aimed at raising funds for the incubator through a donation of any amount in the app. The charity auction was creatively supported by the Banks partner - the Kyiv School of Economics, whose students visited the head office with a nativity scene in honor of Nicholas Day and congratulated OTP BANK on the holidays. Our talented guests gave us incredible, very bright emotions with their inspiring performance, which is exactly what we all need right now. Once upon a time, nativity scenes on the squares of Ukrainian villages, towns and cities were shown by students or traveling actors. As we can see, this tradition has come to us through the ages, and we appreciate it very much, - emphasized L. Syrota. The other day, OTP BANK provided support to the Kyiv School of Economics in the amount of UAH 500,000. These funds will be used for memorial scholarships for gifted students. The scholarships are founded in honor of three members of the KSE community who gave their lives for the freedom of Ukraine. The tradition of charity auctions at OTP BANK dates back several years, and before the transition to the digital format, it had the appearance of fairs with goodies prepared by the employees themselves. Funds collected at such events were directed to support orphanages.
