Representatives of the EBA Food and Dairy Committees held a meeting with Mr Andriy Zhuk, First Deputy Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection. We discussed topical issues faced by companies during the import and export of animal products, in particular the necessity of approval of the the unified form of a veterinary certificate for importing products from EU countries, elimination of th the functions’ duplication of the veterinary service at the place of production and at the state border of Ukraine for issuing a veterinary certificate for export. During the meeting, prospects for conducting research in accredited laboratories of different forms of ownership were discussed as well as the necessity of the development of the market of laboratory services in order to form a competitive price for paid laboratory research. It was decided to continue cooperation in a working regime with the participation of EBA representatives and the Service in order to exchange relevant information and elaborate an effective mechanism of cooperation between the business community and the Service.
