Master class: first aid for company employees

It is about carrying out the simplest medical measures to save lives, reduce the suffering of the victim from an emergency and prevent the development of possible complications. On January 19, 2022, at the practical master class EBA Odesa Health Management First Aid for Company Employees, the member companies of the Association learned about algorithms and skills that can be used to save other peoples lives. In particular, they received valuable information about the general principles of first aid (loss of consciousness, breath testing, transfer to a safe position), and also understood how to act in case of emergencies (stroke, heart attack, airway obstruction, seizure). Here are the main principles to follow when providing first aid: correctness and expediency (if you are not sure of your actions - it is better to refrain; the main rule of first aid - do no harm, so if you do not have the appropriate skills to help, you should seek help from others present at the scene); speed (according to statistics, assistance provided during the first 7-9 minutes increases the chances of rescue); thoughtfulness, determination, calm (panic has no place when human life is in your hands). It should be noted that in many countries, the state formally determines the list of jobs or occupations whose representatives must have first aid skills. Such rules exist, for example, in the United States and France. In Ukraine, home care is provided at the scene by persons who do not have medical education, but in their official duties must have basic practical skills to save and preserve the life of a person in an emergency, and by law are obliged to provide such actions and measures.
