Listen to online Stop   As part of the Lobbying Talks series, organised by the European Business Association together with DTEK Group and the Ukrainian Corporate Governance Academy, another meeting took place, this time with Vladyslav Rashkovan, IMF Executive Director for Ukraine. The discussion focused on Ukraine’s international image, promoting the country’s interests globally, and the role of international financial institutions. Together with the event moderator, Serhii Kovalenko, CEO of YASNO, participants discussed how Ukraine is currently perceived in Washington and by international institutions, what shapes attitudes towards the country, and how international support for Ukraine is built. Particular attention was paid to Ukraine’s engagement with the International Monetary Fund and how national interests are promoted in practice within such institutions. The discussion covered the role of evidence and arguments, the country’s reputation, personal relationships and political weight in decision-making processes. Participants also discussed how international perceptions of Ukraine have changed in recent years, what expectations international partners have, and which questions about Ukraine most frequently arise among those making key financial and political decisions. Following the discussion, Vladyslav shared the main takeaways in an article for Forbes.
