21/ 09/ 2017
The largest buyers of Ukrainian grain in 2016/17 MY are already traditionally the countries of Africa, Asia and Europe. This was reported by the executive director of the Committee for Grains and Oilseeds of the European Business Association Irina Dusnik. In recent years, there has been a trend of increasing sales of agricultural crops to Asian markets. The promotion of grain and oilseeds in these areas, according to the business community, is strategically important, because they are considered the most promising. According to the expert, now the PRC is one of the worlds largest importers of agricultural products. The geography of countries supplying agricultural products to the PRC has expanded considerably. Ukraine also fell into the list of countries exporting agricultural products to China. She recalled that between Ukraine and China signed three intergovernmental protocols that regulate the requirements for the export of Ukrainian corn, barley and soybeans to the PRC. Last week, the texts of the sanitary and phytosanitary requirements were signed regarding the export of sunflower meal and beet pulp from Ukraine to China. The doors were opened, but finally the Ukrainian companies could start exporting sunflower meal, it is necessary to do a big piece of work. To receive green light, the exporting company must be included in the list approved by the AQSIQ (General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the Peoples Republic of China). This list is supposed to be updated every six months. To get on this list, Ukrainian companies need to be patient and get started: first contact the territorial authorities of the State Consumer Protection Service with an application for inspecting the capacities from which the exports will be made, then get confirmation from the central office of the service, which will subsequently recommend the enterprise for inclusion in the list , - I. Dusznik explained. The expert asserts that it is necessary to continue work on expanding the list of agricultural products (especially agricultural crops such as peas, wheat, grains and rapeseed) exported from Ukraine to China, because creating new opportunities for Ukrainian exporters is one of the key development priorities industry.
