EBA Logistics Committee discusses current shippers’ issues with Ukrzaliznytsia

  The Logistics Committee of the European Business Association held a meeting with representatives of Ukrzaliznytsia, in particular with Oleksandr Nosulko, Head of the Freight Division, to discuss the issues currently of concern to shippers in their interaction with the rail carrier. During the meeting, participants discussed: Ukrzaliznytsia’s tariff policy for freight transportation in 2026, including prospects for tariff increases, the formation of tariff distances, the methodology for assessing the impact of tariff increases on transportation volumes, and related matters; The efficiency of rolling stock utilisation, in particular the use of electric locomotives on certain routes, as well as opportunities to improve traffic management and optimise transportation planning; The restoration of damaged infrastructure and rail traffic safety, including the organisation of operations during power outages, which remain critically important for ensuring the stability of transportation; The need to develop and approve a new procedure/instruction/order regulating the extension of the service life of freight wagons whose operational срок has expired. The business community expressed its appreciation to the representatives of Ukrzaliznytsia for the dialogue and the opportunity to directly discuss current issues affecting shippers. The Association will continue its communication with Ukrzaliznytsia in order to identify practical solutions essential for efficient and predictable logistics.
