Anna Ogrenchuk’s term as President of the Ukrainian Bar Association came to an end

17/ 08/ 2023
In July 2021, Anna Ogrenchuk, Managing Partner at LCF Law Group, began her term as President of the Ukrainian Bar Association, the biggest non-governmental, non-profit 20-years old organization which unites 7,000 lawyers from all areas of the legal profession in Ukraine. Her election program, and later the Associations work plans, prioritized the development of the profession, womens leadership, improvement of legal education, and many other items. However, the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia crossed out everything and forced to deal with completely different issues. The work on counteracting the Russian aggression became the UBA’s main priority. The Association focused on strengthening international cooperation, providing legal assistance to Ukrainian businesses and citizens, and supporting fellow lawyers who suffered from the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. But still, at the same time, the team managed to implement many of the plans from the election campaign: the financial independence of the Association was strengthened, the draft Code of Ethics for Legal Business was completed, and cooperation with government agencies was intensified, particularly in the area of human rights protection. On August 2, 2023, Anna Ogrenchuks two-year term came to an end. At a meeting of the Ukrainian Bar Associations Legal Assembly, the results achieved by the legal community during Anna’s presidency were presented. Link to the presentation: http://surl.li/kcgeq
