IT Talks: “How to grow and scale IT business?”

  On March 10, 2021, the European Business Association, the international legal service Interlegal and the product company Codeska held an online meeting on the development, growth and opening of new markets - IT Talks: How to grow and scale IT business?. After all, the Ukrainian IT business is one of the most dynamic sectors of the economy, and its growth and scaling is a key task for the owner. This was stated by Artur Nitsevych, Chairman of the EBA Odesa Legal Committee, co-owner, partner of the legal service Interlegal, moderator of the meeting, during opening the event. Olga Kunychak, Manager of the EBA IT Committee, spoke about the problems faced by the industry in 2020, highlighted the forecasts for 2021 and how the rules of the game for IT business in Ukraine have changed. Particular attention was paid to the “Diya City” initiative, draft laws №4303/-1/-2 and further steps of the EBA in the direction of its completion and implementation. Anton Poleskov, Business Manager of iClub (Investors Club) from TA Ventures shared with the participants life hacks and recommendations on how to attract investment in Ukraine, because there are a number of criteria for selecting startups for investment and details which investors pay the further attention. Andriy Lander, founder and CEO of Codeska, outlined the theme of the steady growth of startups, stressed the importance of partnerships in the IT business and the main mistakes made by startups in the early stages of development. Yuriy Romanyukha, B2B sales consultant, author of the B2B sales course at Projector School, a payment systems specialist, spoke in more detail about payment systems for the technological business. Thus, Mr. Andrew shared the main services of mandatory payments and told how to increase the throughput of payments. Veronika Lindorenko, a marketing specialist for startups, former head of marketing at OneSoil, gave her advice on how to launch a startup on Product Hunt, as it can be a great PR campaign for IT startups, especially at the initial stage and what mistakes to avoid. A special attention was dedicated to legal advice to IT entrepreneurs in Ukraine, where leading Interlegal lawyers -Ellina Romanova, Daria Lyashenko, Mykita Kocherba, Marta Sverdlykivska - provided valuable practical advice on how IT companies should behave during searches and inspections, conducted a review of current tax changes, outlined the key terms of service for the digital platform and considered the Interlegal case on copyright protection of a computer program. Thanks to the invited guests and experts for a productive and ideological discussion!
