Ilyashev & Partners was engaged by an international network of consulting firms to provide legal support to its client – a European company – in matters related to the operations of foreign e-commerce entities and the sale of goods on the Internet in Ukraine. Ilyashev & Partners’ team conducted a comprehensive legal analysis of the regulatory framework applicable to foreign e-commerce businesses operating in Ukraine and provides comprehensive legal support on the key aspects of launching an online store, including: choosing the business structure for operating in Ukraine; defining the operational model for a foreign e-commerce company on the Ukrainian market; import and customs clearance of goods supplied to Ukraine; consumer protection, including mechanisms for interaction and complaint resolution; taxation of transactions involving a foreign or Ukrainian online store; processing and protection of consumers’ personal data under the GDPR and Ukrainian legislation.
