Ilyashev & Partners Initiates a Safeguard Investigation into the Imports of PVC Profiles to Ukraine, Regardless of Country of Origin and Export

  Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm, which is representing the interests of the national producers – Viknaland LLC, Mayado LLC, Open Teck LLC and Miroplast LLC, – has initiated a safeguard investigation into the imports of PVC profiles to Ukraine, regardless of country of origin and export. Following the review of the complaint of Ukrainian producers, which was prepared by the International Trade Practice Team of Ilyashev & Partners Law Firm headed by the firm’s Partner Olena Omelchenko, by its decision dated 27 August 2021 the Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade initiated a safeguard investigation into the imports of goods to Ukraine, regardless of country of origin and export, of the following description: PVC profiles, including the shaped PVC profiles, with or without a draught seal for windows, window sills and doors, PVC window sills, classified under the codes of Ukrainian Classification of Goods for Foreign Economic Activity (UCGFEA) ex3916 20 00 90 and ex3925 90 80 00. The “ex” mark means that the investigation is undertaken with respect of goods described in the decision. The safeguard investigation will last for nine months and may result in the introduction of quotas or application of a special duty onto the imports of PVC profiles to Ukraine. The safeguard investigation is meant to protect the interests of the domestic producers against the growing imports of goods, which is threatening to cause significant damage to the local domestic industry.
