Humanitarian Sunflower Seeds from Lidea Shape the Future Harvest in the Fields of the Kherson Region

26/ 09/ 2023
In May 2023, Lidea generously contributed UAH 5.9 million as charity aid to the Kherson region farmers. Spearheaded by Lideas Ukrainian branch and bolstered by our European affiliates, this initiative, in synergy with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the military administration of the Kherson Oblast, ensured the delivery of 1,091 high-quality sunflower sowing units to agricultural producers. The Lideas team are people who help and do everything to ensure that Ukrainian farmers continue to work successfully. To underscore this commitment, in 2022, we launched an avant-garde internal programme, Together to the Sowing Season! focused exclusively on farms impacted by the hostilities. Maintaining a robust engagement with our beneficiaries is paramount for us. Thats why, in August, Lidea representatives travelled to the Kherson region to discuss the difficulties farmers face. How do they live, and what is their sunflower cultivation journey? What visions and aspirations do they harbour for the impending times? You may find responses to these questions via the following link: https://bit.ly/3qRUndS. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLCR6RGdJvErCdgAmIG37av6EGnBAMFy24&si=F56om3YCEXUrgOGc Our heartfelt gratitude extends to these resilient farmers for their work and faith in the future! Lidea remains steadfast in fortifying the food security landscape of Ukraine. Already in October, farmers in the Kherson region will be equipped to cultivate about 50 hectares of winter wheat with free Elite seeds. This pivotal initiative is poised to yield 250 tonnes of first-generation seeds for the 2024 sowing campaign. Given wheats strategic significance for our nation, we are confident that this initiative will bolster domestic farmers, furnishing them with superior-grade seeds.
