The EBA Industrial Ecology and Sustainable Development Committee invites you to an expert discussion European Experience for Implementing ETS in Ukraine. This is the first event in a series of discussions aimed at initiating a public dialogue on the future design of the carbon emissions trading market for Ukraine in the process of European integration. The establishment of a carbon emissions trading market is one of Ukraines commitments under the Association Agreement with the EU. At the same time, the strengthening of requirements for member countries and trading partners in terms of compliance with social and environmental standards requires Ukraine, as an EU candidate, to take decisive actions in achieving climate goals, launching a carbon pricing market mechanism, developing financing tools for emissions reduction projects, and preventing carbon leakage. During the event, participants will discuss the ways to launch the ETS in Ukraine and provide an assessment of the main obstacles and necessary resources.
