EBA welcomes the adoption of the draft law regulating materials intended to come into contact with food

02/ 07/ 2026
The European Business Association welcomes the adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of Draft Law No. 13204-1 On State Regulation of Organic Production, Circulation and Labelling of Organic Products, which, among other provisions, introduces amendments to the Law of Ukraine On Materials and Articles Intended to Come into Contact with Food No. 2718-IX of 3 November 2022. The European Business Association is grateful to the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy and the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine for their attention to the challenges that emerged in the market following the introduction of the new legislative requirements, as well as for taking into account the Associations proposals regarding the recognition of materials, articles and technologies that have been approved and recognised as safe within the European Union. The adopted amendments will contribute to the harmonisation of Ukrainian legislation with the EU regulatory framework and help prevent unjustified barriers to business operations. The business community now looks forward to the prompt signing of the draft law by the President of Ukraine and its entry into force.
