The European Business Association held a general meeting with the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman

18/ 05/ 2017
The European Business Association held a general meeting with the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman. Over 400 guests - EBA members and leading media representatives - participated in this important event. We were pleased to hear the government’s plans to bring Ukraine’s economy to a higher level of sustainable growth. Economic growth is one of the key priorities for the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, according to the Prime Minister. The EBA leadership reiterated at the meeting that defending investors interests is fundamental to achieving this goal. The EBA truly believes that the government will continue implementing reforms, which will simplify conditions of doing business in Ukraine. The Groysman Cabinet has already improved tax legislation, launched a new transparent system of VAT refunds, and started working on deregulation as well as reform of the Cabinet structure - approximately ten ministries will soon be reorganised. The Cabinet also defined five key directions of economic development it is prioritising for Ukraine: pension reform, privatisation of inefficient state enterprises, agrarian, education and health care reforms. The EBA is actively working on implementing reforms, which benefit the business community and society. Many important issues still need the attention of the Prime Minister and his team. EBA members had a chance to address their concerns directly to Mr Groysman. We raised issues related to health care, the actions of law enforcement bodies, customs clearance, waste management, shipbuilding and logistics, the dairy sector and animal health. We are grateful to the Prime Minister for this open dialogue and hope to meet regularly.
