ЕРАМ is inviting senior high-school students to learn IT basics free of charge

19/ 11/ 2021
During three months, at EPAM University high-school students are going to learn all about IT technologies and professions, and how the whole industry works. Attending the  Pre-Junior Program is free of charge, but not everyone will be admitted. The candidates are expected to be enthusiastic and have a certain level of skills and knowledge, as they are supposed to be learning basics of programming, web-design and cloud services.   Statistics shows that quite a number of students in the middle of their studies in the university can’t picture themselves in the profession, thus a lot of students appear to have chosen the profession without full understanding of the matter. Pre-Junior Program intends to help high-school students create their impression of the current IT industry, professions and have a glimpse at work of an IT company from the inside. This will help avoid future disappointments resulting from skewed understanding of the specifics and requirements of the industry. The results of the pilot project, which collected several hundreds of interested high-school students this spring, has proved the importance of such kind of orientation initiatives. The program has been developed by EPAM experts specifically for high-school students interested in technologies and acquiring basic knowledge and skills in developing software. “Despite the popularity of IT-specialities among the school graduates, often there is lack of understanding how the industry works and what may be one’s place there. We are offering the participants of Pre-Junior Program a chance to learn about the types of companies, roles and methodologies, tools for coding, and soft skills necessary for work - there is a separate block about these. On top of that, they will have a chance to attended advanced sessions on Front-end, C#, and cloud technologies, whatever they choose. That’s why it’s important that candidates for the program are willing and ready to study both with the trainer and on their own. After graduation, the participants will receive special certificates,” - says Denys Hryniov, the head of Curriculum at EPAM University. You can learn more and register for the program till November 29. The studying begins on January 17, 2022. This will be an online program, so anyone from around Ukraine can join and receive their first IT specialized working experience with EPAM University experts.
