ЕРАМ University is resuming its work and offers a special course for “switchers”

14/ 04/ 2022
In the end of March, at EPAM studies for the groups of the external course and the internal labs, which were launched before the war in Ukraine, were resumed. The main accent is placed on the programs for developers, testers and engineers of cloud services. Moreover, considering the increased interest to IT jobs, in particular from the people who lost their job due to war, the company has developed a program for beginners. It will be available to Ukrainians from any country, who want to master the basics of computer engineering and move to IT having no prior experience. Registration for this program is open. As for resuming the EPAM University program Under the war circumstances, not all EPAM University students have the opportunity to continue studying. Among those who were possible to contact, about 75% of external programs students and 85% of the internal labs participants are ready to resume studying. The intensity of the studying process will be changed as well. The company plans to make the programs last longer and thus more convenient for the participants. Though, all the 25 existing directions at EPAM University are in the process of resuming their work, the priority is given to the preparation of specialists in the spheres of the most demand: developers, testers, engineers of the cloud services. “The increase of interest to studying IT that we are observing now is obviously easy to understand. This sphere, as no other, offers more opportunities to study and work remotely, at flexible hours, with no connection to a specific location. We are trying to satisfy this demand in a new format. At EPAM University we have increased the amount of content and video materials to be available in recording, as nowadays, even at a relatively safe place, not all the students are able to attend online classes” – Denys Grynyov, the Head of the Educational Programs at EPAM University, comments. There will be calls for new participants for the traditional directions the company offers after the present groups finish studying. You may follow the announcements at the training portal and in the EPAM University  social media. As for the special course for “switchers” EPAM Ukraine is announcing enrollment for the basic course of IT Fundamentals for Ukrainian Switchers for those who want to change their profession and become a member of IT industry. This course has been developed together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation. Is consists of two main modules and requires students to know English. The first basic module comprises 120 hours (about 8 weeks of studying) and is dedicated to the basics of computer engineering. The second module is oriented on division in terms of specialization of developing, testing and cloud technologies. Though there are quite a lot of materials for self-study, there are weekly meetings planned with Ukrainian tutors for reviewing the current tasks and answering the most important questions. After two basic modules of the course, the participant may decide to continue studying deeper at the more advanced programs and gain access to the educational laboratories of EPAM University. “Currently, a lot of people have lost their jobs and view IT sphere as a chance to find some stable grounds in their lives. Our goal is to prepare people for entering the specialized programs at the shortest time possible. We are ready to teach basics of IT to thousands of students”, - shares Denys Grynyov. You can apply for studying and get more info about the conditions of the program at the link. Earlier, the company informed that together with their partner, AWS, it is helping Ukrainian universities to transfer the critically important infrastructure to the cloud storage. This will allow the universities to offer educational services remotely. First and foremost, we mean the universities situated in the regions where active military operations are happening. More than 15 universities have used the company’s services.
