  What was the situation for the gas and energy sector in the last week of spring from 23 to 29 May – check our updates below. Oil and gas sector Hostilities continue in the area of ​​operation of JSC Donetskoblgaz, so the situation is still difficult. The occupiers damaged the main gas pipeline of the Ukrainian GTS operator that transported gas to the settlements of the Donetsk region. As a result, the supply of natural gas to most consumers in the Donetsk region was cut off. Despite the destruction, the two communities in the companys service area still have access to gas. Currently, gas is supplied to 1,869 households. JSC Donetskoblgaz also started the evacuation of employees, documentation, and movable property of Slovyansk and Artemivsk departments. Consumers of Naftogaz Trading LLC reduced the use of natural gas by 20% in a week. The company continues to operate on a full-time basis. NJSC Naftogaz Ukraine – gas and heat tariffs will remain unchanged from June 1 as the state supports Ukrainians during the war. Ukrtransgaz underground storage facilities remain under high security and continue to operate as usual. JSC Ukrgazvydobuvannya continues to produce gas at all its facilities, except for those near the line of contact. JSC Ukrtransnafta and JSC Ukrspetstransgaz continue to work as usual under martial law. OJSC Kirovogradgaz operates as usual. In May, hostile shelling continued in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Thus, power engineers had to rebuild grids damaged by enemy missiles in the Kryvyi Rih region for almost 10,000 households. Grids in the Odessa region were also damaged by russian aggressors. In May, power engineers restored electrical infrastructure and returned light to almost 25,000 residents in 40 settlements in the region. Natural gas market Regional Gas Company. 166,868 consumers remain without gas supply as of May 30, 2022. Since the russian invasion, the company has witnessed cases of deliberate destruction of critical infrastructure, namely 5,000 km of gas distribution networks were destroyed, 311 units of high-tech modern vehicles were smashed and 6,000 square meters of buildings were put down. Due to hostilities, 1,074 gas distribution and 2,739 cabinet gas control points were shut down and damaged. Specialists of GDN Operators resumed work of 390 gas distribution and 929 closed-circuit gas regulating stations. The rapid restoration of gas equipment is due to RGC Production and the RGC network of logistics centers promptly receiving components from European suppliers. During May-June, plants in Vinnytsia, Dnipro, and Lviv will ship 217 closed-circuit gas-regulating units to Kyiv, Chernihiv, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, and other regions. Kharkiv region. The gasmen repaired the damage to the medium-pressure gas pipeline with a diameter of 720 mm in Northern Saltovka. After demining of the territory by the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and employees of the State Emergency Service, Kharkivmiskgaz specialists gained access to this section of the gas pipeline and replaced the destroyed parts. The gas companies are conducting inspections and complete elimination of the consequences of enemy shelling on all nearby gas pipelines. Specialists of JSC Kharkivmiskgaz manually check all indoor gas pipelines for tightness and integrity. Resumption of gas supply will begin after ensuring the safety of residents of the area. Specialists of JSC Kharkivgaz have started the restoration of gas pipelines in the fourth deoccupied settlement of the region - Vilkhivka, Kharkiv district. The gas company replaced the destroyed sections of the distribution gas pipelines and repaired the damaged infrastructure facilities. Work continues in the town of Dergachi, where the distribution to several more households has been restored. However, the enemy continues to inflict artillery strikes on critical infrastructure. One of the gas control points in the Chuhuiv district was destroyed by a direct hit. And in the Kharkiv district, a high-pressure gas pipeline was attacked by the occupants. Gas supply to the residents of the district has been temporarily suspended during the repair works. Specialists of Chernihivgaz JSC repaired gas distribution networks damaged as a result of the russian offensive in the Chernihiv region. Gas distribution to Yakubivka, Shestovytsia, Slabyna, Zhavynka, and Gushchyna was restored. The gasmen repaired an air bridge (gas line crossing) to return gas to Stas, Terekhivka, Tovstolis, and Rivne, which were under enemy occupation. In Novoselivka, several sections of an underground gas pipeline damaged by artillery shells and air bombs were replaced. Gas distribution has also been restored to Khalyavyn, Roishche, Petrushin, Malynivka, Kyivka, Trisvyatska Sloboda, Staryi, and Novyi Bilous, Brusylov, and Taras Shevchenkos hamlet. The village of Nova Basan and its neighbors have been under racist occupation for more than a month, and gas networks have been severely damaged by shelling and the movement of military equipment. Tanks and armored vehicles damaged overhead gas pipelines and yard entrances. Gas workers of JSC Chernihivgaz conducted inspections of networks, replacement of damaged sections of underground gas pipelines, repairs of the yard and house gas pipelines, and launched the gas distribution. So far, more than 850 households have access to gas. In neighboring Novy Bykov, closed-circuit gas regulating station was repaired after being fired from the artillery. Thus, 15 meters of the overhead gas pipeline were replaced and 30 meters of the underground distribution gas pipeline were repaired. Distribution was restored to 560 households.
