EBA welcomes the extension of the ‘transport visa-free regime’ until the end of the year

10/ 04/ 2025
The European Business Association welcomes the decision to extend the Agreement on the Liberalisation of Freight Transport between Ukraine and the European Union until the end of 2025. The business community sees this as a crucial step towards ensuring stable logistics, supporting Ukrainian exports, and sustaining the economy amid the ongoing war. Even before the Agreement came into force, the EBA consistently advocated for the liberalisation of international road freight transport. The constant shortage of international transport permits had posed serious challenges for businesses, complicated exports, and disrupted established logistics chains. The European Business Association extends its gratitude to the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine for its consistent efforts in ensuring the uninterrupted validity of the Agreement. We hope that the liberalisation of international road transport will become a permanent element of our relations with the European Union. Ukraine is confidently moving towards EU membership — and transport integration is an essential part of this journey.
