EBA and the State Customs Service of Ukraine signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation

18/ 12/ 2019
Yesterday, on 17 December, Anna Derevyanko, Executive Director of the European Business Association, and Maxym Nefyodov, Head of the State Customs Service, signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation. According to the Memorandum, the signatories undertake jointly to form databases of the customs service. In particular, the business will provide information on the current price range for goods imported into Ukraine to avoid manipulation of the customs value of goods during their import. In particular, the Association will inform the State Customs Service of Ukraine of: - facts or intentions of illegal movement of goods across the customs border of Ukraine; - functioning of the external and internal market of goods produced in Ukraine, their volume of sales in the domestic market; - tendencies of production and sale of these goods on world markets. First of all, the Association will provide information to the customs service on current prices for instant coffee, because according to the representatives of the Association - producers and distributors of coffee products - unscrupulous importers reduce the customs value of coffee products. It is hoped that the signing of the Memorandum will facilitate a better dialogue between business and the state and will have a positive impact on the investment climate of Ukraine. Anna Derevyanko. Executive Director of the European Business Association. We are pleased to begin a new phase of our cooperation with the State Customs Service on the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding. This is an important step because traditionally the most problematic issues in business have been related to customs and tax authorities. We hope that establishing partnerships with the customs will lead to a simplification of the operations of a virtuous business
