At the EBA Kharkiv Real Estate, Investments and Strategic Development Committee meeting, experts analyzed the situation in the RE-industry, particularly in the Kharkiv region, summed up the results of 2021 and shared forecasts for the next year. It is worth noting that the overall growth of the Ukrainian economy in 2021 (GDP increased by 3.2% and amounted to almost $ 200 billion US) undoubtedly affected the market. The liquidation of the State Architectural and Construction Inspectorate (SACI), the establishment of the State Inspectorate for Architecture and Urban Planning (SIAUP), and privatization processes were also discussed. Particular attention was paid to the commercial RE (including retail and office spaces) as well as the residential sector. Speakers clarified the dynamics of the industry’s supply and demand and presented future market forecasts. Foreign real estate investment opportunities were also a topic of discussion, whereas the growth of interest for RE in countries such as Turkey, Bulgaria, the UAE, Spain, Greece, etc. is significantly increasing due to the need of people to protect their capital in times of crisis. *Speakers presentations are available below.
