EBA Dnipro Expert Talks: “Transport and International Trade”

05/ 08/ 2021
The issues of cargo transportation, export-import operations are important and interesting for many companies. And how appropriate it is that in this warm summer season you can communicate with colleagues offline, share experiences, discuss common problems, get advice and professional explanations. Such an opportunity was given to business representatives within the framework of the EBA Dnipro Expert Talks: Transport and International Trade, which took place on August 3, in collaboration with experts of Interlegal International Law Firm. During the meeting, which was conducted in a friendly and pleasant atmosphere, business representatives and experts discussed legal issues and peculiarities of export and import of products, recent changes in tax legislation, key trends in logistics centers’ creation, etc. Speeches of the speakers – Karina Gorova, Dmytro Ochkolias, Daria Liashenko – concerned topics that were familiar and relevant for most companies. We considered the categories of risks in a trading process through the container transportation of goods, the specificity of working with a linear carrier. Daria Liashenko and Karina Gorova presented the topics of tax residency and arbitral tribunals. Experts compared foreign and domestic arbitrations, considered their advantages against national courts. Imperfections of Ukrainian legislation have not been without attention since its changes do not always meet the interests of business and hardly contribute to the development of healthy competition in our country. Dmytro Ochkolias gave examples of working with real draft regulations and current by-laws, some provisions of which had disturbed the business community. Thanks to an interaction with the State Regulatory Service of Ukraine and the experience of colleagues from the company’s associated worldwide offices, Interlegal specialists managed to change the situation for the better and to contribute to the introduction of necessary and important changes to these documents. The topic about the successful cooperation with Interlegal on the relevant issue was supported by the participating company OST-WEST Logistic Ukraine. It should be noted that the speakers supplemented their reports with interesting cases – real stories of client companies, which highly contributed to active participation of the audience in the discussion. Thus, great interest was caused by the dry ports theme, presented by the speakers together with the NUnit company. The participants were actively interested in the process of organization and infrastructure of such complexes, prospects for development of this direction, interaction with Ukrzaliznytsia, transportation routes, etc. We sincerely thank our colleagues from Interlegal International Law Firm for an expert and meaningful information, professional presentation, and we hope that such meetings will continue!

The issues of cargo transportation, export-import operations are important and interesting for many companies. And how appropriate it is that in this warm summer season you can communicate with colleagues offline, share experiences, discuss common problems, get advice and professional explanations.

Such an opportunity was given to business representatives within the framework of the EBA Dnipro Expert Talks: “Transport and International Trade”, which took place on August 3, in collaboration with experts of Interlegal International Law Firm.

The topic about the successful cooperation with Interlegal on the relevant issue was supported by the participating company “OST-WEST Logistic Ukraine”.

It should be noted that the speakers supplemented their reports with interesting cases – real stories of client companies, which highly contributed to active participation of the audience in the discussion. Thus, great interest was caused by the “dry ports” theme, presented by the speakers together with the “N’Unit” company.
