  Author: Victoria Doskovska, attorney at Dynasty Law & Investment In the modern world, communication mostly takes place online, using the Internet. Social networks provide an opportunity for each person to express their own opinion, give their own assessment of a certain event, share a review of a particular organization or report interesting facts about a specific person. And, taking into account that, as they say, paper tolerates everything, often the author of the publication does not weigh what he wants to convey to the society in terms of truthfulness and violation of the rights and legally protected interests of other persons with his statements. Defamation is the dissemination of false information about a person that degrades his honor, dignity and harms his business reputation. Accordingly, disputes arising as a result of defamation are called defamatory. In practice, in order to protect your rights as a result of defamation, you must first do a very thorough job: to establish the author of the publication and the owner of the media in which such information is distributed; to prove with appropriate evidence the fact of dissemination of false information by the specific person against whom the lawsuit is filed; specify in detail how the specified information violates your rights and what negative consequences arise in connection with such distribution; prove that shared information is not a value judgment. Dynasty Law & Investment specialists can help you gather the necessary evidence base in this matter and protect your rights.

In the modern world, communication mostly takes place online, using the Internet.

Social networks provide an opportunity for each person to express their own opinion, give their own assessment of a certain event, share a review of a particular organization or report interesting facts about a specific person. And, taking into account that, as they say, “paper tolerates everything”, often the author of the publication does not weigh what he wants to convey to the society in terms of truthfulness and violation of the rights and legally protected interests of other persons with his statements.

Defamation is the dissemination of false information about a person that degrades his honor, dignity and harms his business reputation. Accordingly, disputes arising as a result of defamation are called defamatory.

In practice, in order to protect your rights as a result of defamation, you must first do a very thorough job:

  • to establish the author of the publication and the owner of the media in which such information is distributed;
  • to prove with appropriate evidence the fact of dissemination of false information by the specific person against whom the lawsuit is filed;
  • specify in detail how the specified information violates your rights and what negative consequences arise in connection with such distribution;
  • prove that shared information is not a value judgment.

Dynasty Law & Investment specialists can help you gather the necessary evidence base in this matter and protect your rights.
