EBA dialogue with the Embassy of Italy on the development of business cooperation

21/ 10/ 2025
On October 17, the Western Ukrainian Office of the European Business Association held a substantive meeting with Francesca Toninato, Head of the Economic and Commercial Office at the Embassy of Italy in Ukraine. During the meeting, we discussed the potential of Ukrainian–Italian economic cooperation, ranging from manufacturing sectors to innovation, technology, and sustainable energy. The conversation focused on practical opportunities for developing partnerships between businesses of the two countries. Italian business has strong expertise in the food industry, agri processing, design and furniture manufacturing, mechanical engineering, energy efficient technologies, and digital solutions for production. Ukrainian companies, in turn, demonstrate strong dynamics, openness to new approaches, and readiness to scale projects together with international partners. For this reason, we explored in detail the cooperation landscape, including how to introduce Italian companies to Ukrainian counterparts, create platforms for B2B communication, trade missions, joint innovation projects, and technological alliances. We are confident that the synergy of Italy’s experience and Ukraine’s creativity can deliver a powerful effect for both sides. We also discussed factors influencing investment decisions, including risks, both military and political, as well as Ukraine’s advantages such as cultural proximity, a skilled workforce, favorable logistics, competitive production resources, and the business community’s readiness for transformation. We sincerely thank Ms Francesca Toninato for her openness to dialogue, strategic vision, and strong interest in the development of Ukrainian–Italian economic relations. We are confident that new partnerships, innovations, and joint successes lie ahead, strengthening the position of businesses in both countries within today’s Europe.
