Dentons advises YM LIQUID GAS on production of bio-LNG in Ukraine

19/ 03/ 2024
Dentons advised YM LIQUID GAS on the regulatory aspects of the production of bio-LNG in Ukraine and the requirements of its export to the European Union. In particular, the team advised on customs formalities and potential changes to Ukrainian legislation to improve the legal environment for the implementation of bio-LNG projects. YM Liquid Gas is a pioneer in Bio-LNG production in Ukraine. Bio-LNG is an alternative to fossil fuels, made by converting chicken manure and agricultural waste into biomethane. It offers a cleaner and eco-friendly fuel alternative for the heavy-duty transportation sector, particularly for large trucks.  The company plans to produce 20 tons of Bio-LNG daily in 2024 and aims to double the production in 2025.  Kyiv-based partner Maksym Sysoiev led the Dentons legal team on the project. In February 2024, Maksym Sysoiev was re-elected as a board member of the Bioenergy Association of Ukraine (UABio), where he will help the other members of the board understand the legal aspects of supporting bioenergy projects.
