Europe Day: meeting of the EBA business community

06/ 05/ 2025
On the eve of Europe Day, the European Business Association traditionally brought together representatives of business, diplomatic missions, and government institutions for an evening reception. This event annually symbolises our commitment to Ukraine’s European integration path and creates a space for strategic networking, exploring new ideas, and fostering opportunities for cooperation. Opening remarks were delivered by Katarína Mathernová, Ambassador of the European Union to Ukraine; Anna Derevyanko, Executive Director of the European Business Association; Tiberiu Dima, CEO of BASF Ukraine and President of the EBA; and Alessandro Zanelli, CEO of Nestlé in Ukraine and South Eastern Europe. It was a great honour for the EBA to welcome Mykola Sierga and representatives of Cultural Forces of Ukraine – an initiative uniting creative members of the Armed Forces. Their performance was a highlight of the evening and a powerful reminder of the vital role of culture and educational efforts, even in difficult times. An important part of the evening was a charity auction, held in partnership with the charitable foundation Blagomay, to raise funds for neonatal equipment for the Dnipro Regional Family Health Medical Centre. Nearly 3,500 babies are born at the centre each year, with 12% arriving prematurely. The number of premature births, particularly those with extremely low birth weight, has increased during the war – and such equipment is crucial for their survival. Thanks to our guests, we managed to raise UAH 326,000. During the event, the EBA also announced and awarded special distinctions to the first twenty businesses included in the Investment Leaders list. Since 2022, EBA member companies have announced large-scale investment projects totalling over USD 3 billion. These companies are setting an example, demonstrating that Ukraine remains an attractive investment destination despite the war and its related challenges. We are grateful to our partner – Nestlé Ukraine, which has been operating in the Ukrainian market for 30 years. Moreover, the company is opening a new production facility in Volyn this year, investing USD 45 million. We sincerely thank all our guests, partners, and active members of our community for sharing this special evening with us!
