Danone In Ukraine Joins Social Campaign #SupportDoctors

27/ 04/ 2020
On March 31, Danone in Ukraine began to support doctors fighting coronavirus infection. Within its support campaign, the company will provide 10 tonnes of dairy products and will allocate a budget of UAH 500,000 to purchase specific protective equipment* for the hospitals. Undoubtedly, any assistance for healthcare system, institutions and healthcare professionals is a priority need today. That is why Danone in Ukraine decided to provide the products of its own production on a weekly basis for doctors of the relevant institutions and departments. Danone social campaign is focused on three cities of company’s presence in Ukraine: Kyiv, Kremenchuk and Kherson. The company choose these cities because the efficient interactions with both local state authorities and relevant healthcare institutions can be fully ensured there. Since March 31, Danone in Ukraine began to provide its product kits for hospitals, individual units of hospitals, and some ambulance services who are involved in fighting the coronavirus infection to support its healthcare professionals. As of now, social campaign is implemented among the following institutions: Alexander Clinical Hospital of Kyiv, Kherson Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital & Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the Regional Hospital, Kremenchuk Intensive Care Unit of the Infectious Diseases Hospital and Infectious Diseases Unit of Children’s Hospital in Kremenchuk, as well as the Emergency Medical Services in Kremenchuk. In Kyiv currently the campaign begins to be implemented in the City Clinical Hospital №4 (of Solomyanskyi District) and the City Clinical Hospital №9 (Shevchenkivskyi District). Within this social campaign the company will provide 10 tonnes of fresh dairy products made by Danone in Ukraine. In addition, Danone will allocate a budget of UAH 500,000 to purchase protective masks, antiseptics, and rapid tests for coronavirus (Covid-19) to keep healthcare professionals safe as they battle coronavirus. “Thereby, we express our support for those, who put themselves at risk by saving our health and sometimes our lives. Unfortunately, doctors often do not have enough time and opportunity to take care of themselves and to have a snack with healthy & nutritious food. Therefore, today more than ever before, we feel that we need to support those who save lives of Ukrainians.” – stated Adrian-Valentin Pascu General Manager of Danone in Ukraine. *specific protective equipment - protective masks, antiseptics, and rapid tests for coronavirus (Covid-19) *** About Danone in Ukraine Danone Group in Ukraine is a producer and distributor of a wide range of food products for over 20 years. Production facilities of the company are represented by two modern plants: “Danone Dnipro” (in Kherson) and “Danone Kremez” (in Kremenchuk). Danone is a leading global food & beverage company represented in 130 countries.
