CyberBBQ: Protect your business from cyber threats with EBA and FS Group

06/ 12/ 2024
In the modern context of war, cybersecurity has become no less important than physical defence. Cyberattacks on Ukrainian businesses are becoming increasingly frequent and sophisticated, threatening not only data but also the economic stability of companies. In light of these challenges, the issue of cyber protection has gained heightened relevance, as vulnerabilities in digital systems can lead to severe financial and reputational losses. To help businesses better prepare for contemporary challenges, on 4 December 2024, the Southern Ukrainian Office of the European Business Association, in collaboration with FS Group, organised an offline event in Odesa dedicated to pressing issues in cybersecurity. The event was opened by Kateryna Morozova, Head of the Southern Ukrainian Office of the European Business Association, and Serhii Yevchuk, CEO of FS Group. In her opening remarks, Kateryna emphasised that, amid constant cyber threats, businesses must be ready to face new challenges. She highlighted that enhancing the level of cyber protection is a key element in ensuring companies resilience and long-term growth. Continuing the discussion, Serhii Yevchuk elaborated on the key areas of FS Groups operations, which include working with government institutions, private enterprises, and critical infrastructure organisations. According to him, the company focuses on aspects such as threat intelligence, consultancy, security and vulnerability audits, phishing attack prevention, and compromised account monitoring. He also outlined the primary cyber threats, including data leaks, phishing attacks, the use of infostealers, malicious exploitation of vulnerabilities, and the spread of malware. “Effective cybersecurity begins with vulnerability assessments and addressing blind spots in security systems,” he stressed, underlining the importance of a comprehensive approach to building a resilient cybersecurity framework. To make the event not only informative but also engaging, an interactive quiz on cybersecurity and cyber hygiene was organised for the participants. The quiz allowed attendees to test their knowledge in a playful format, creating a relaxed atmosphere and fostering active audience participation. The event concluded with an excellent opportunity for informal networking. Participants enjoyed a glass of wine and steaks, providing a perfect setting for exchanging ideas, establishing new connections, and simply unwinding after an intensive programme. This event clearly demonstrated the importance of a systematic approach to cybersecurity, particularly in the face of modern challenges. The knowledge gained, solutions discussed, and connections established will help businesses remain resilient and protected, ensuring stability even in the most challenging times.
