CMS advises EBRD on USD 100 million loan

05/ 07/ 2023
International law firm CMS has advised longstanding client the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on a loan of up to USD 100 million to Ukrainian company MHP Group (MHP). MHP is the largest producer and exporter of chicken in Ukraine. It is also the leading producer of poultry meat in Europe and one of the largest grain producers in Ukraine. MHP will use these funds to maintain the production and export of essential agricultural commodities. CMS advised EBRD on all English law aspects of the loan. CMS Banking & Finance partner Rafal Zakrzewski comments: “We are delighted to have advised the EBRD on this loan, which will support MHP in the challenging conditions that Ukraine continues to face. The agricultural sector is a key sector for the Ukrainian economy, and the conflict has impacted the country’s harvests and its ability to export. The firm has unrivalled English law expertise in CEE, which allows us to continue to help EBRD in its mission to support Ukraine.” The CMS team was led by Rafal Zakrzewski and included Evgeniy Vazhynskiy (Banking & Finance). This is the latest in a series of loans on which CMS has advised EBRD. Most recently, CMS advised EBRD on a EUR 10.8 million loan to Serbian company Stax Technologies, and its USD 75 million investment in the USD 825 million sustainability-linked bond (SLB) issued by Ukraine’s national power company, Ukrenergo. -END- For further information, please contact: Darina Gordienko E: [email protected]     T: +38044 391 3377 Notes to editors: About CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang Ukraine The Ukrainian team of CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang has been fully operational since the war and provides its services from several locations including in Budapest, Kyiv, and western Ukraine.  CMS Founded in 1999, CMS is an integrated, multi-jurisdictional organisation of law firms that offers full-service legal and tax advice.
