Business Energy Day: How Businesses Can Strengthen Energy Resilience

28/ 09/ 2026
Business energy resilience today starts not with choosing a generator, solar power plant, or energy storage system. It starts with understanding your actual consumption, risks, critical processes, and how much a company is ready to invest in its energy independence. This systematic approach was at the heart of Business Energy Day, which brought together business representatives, energy sector experts, and technology companies. Together with the event partners, Huawei and Ecotech Ukraine, participants discussed how companies’ approach to energy supply is changing and which solutions can help businesses become more autonomous, predictable, and resilient today. One of the central topics was solar power plants and energy storage systems. For businesses, these are no longer just about alternative generation. By combining different technologies, companies can manage their own energy consumption more efficiently, reduce peak-hour loads, and create an additional reserve for critical processes. Experts from Huawei shared their vision of the development of modern energy storage and energy management technologies. Together with Ecotech Ukraine, participants also discussed the practical aspects of implementing such solutions for businesses, from assessing needs and designing systems to implementation and further operation. One of the key takeaways from Business Energy Day was that an energy solution should start not with equipment, but with the specific needs of a company. Before making an investment, businesses should answer several basic questions: What is our actual energy consumption, and when do peak loads occur? Which processes need to operate continuously under any circumstances? What level of energy autonomy do we really need? Can on-site generation be combined with an energy storage system? What will the project economics look like not only today, but over the next several years? How can the system be scaled if the company’s needs grow? This approach makes it possible to move from individual, situational solutions to a comprehensive energy strategy for the company. The meeting also focused extensively on investment and the economics of energy projects. For businesses, it is not only the technological aspect of a solution that matters, but also its feasibility: payback period, potential savings, equipment reliability, scalability, and the quality of ongoing service. Another important focus was technology. Energy infrastructure is becoming increasingly “smart”: modern systems make it possible to monitor consumption, manage energy flows, and use on-site generation and stored energy more efficiently. As a result, companies gain not simply a backup power source, but a tool for more predictable energy management. Business Energy Day demonstrated that the question for businesses today is no longer “Should we invest in energy resilience?” but rather “Which model will be optimal for our company?” Answering this question requires a combination of strategy, the right technologies, and professional expertise. We thank Huawei and Ecotech Ukraine for their partnership, practical perspective on energy solutions, and the opportunity to discuss with businesses not only technologies, but also how they can work in real-world conditions. Thank you to all the speakers and participants of Business Energy Day for the open discussion, shared experience, and practical cases.

Before making an investment, businesses should answer several basic questions:

  • What is our actual energy consumption, and when do peak loads occur?
  • Which processes need to operate continuously under any circumstances?
  • What level of energy autonomy do we really need?
  • Can on-site generation be combined with an energy storage system?
  • What will the project economics look like not only today, but over the next several years?
  • How can the system be scaled if the company’s needs grow?

Business Energy Day demonstrated that the question for businesses today is no longer “Should we invest in energy resilience?” but rather “Which model will be optimal for our company?”

Answering this question requires a combination of strategy, the right technologies, and professional expertise.
