Business met with the Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine

29/ 03/ 2024
Yesterday, the EBA hosted a meeting with Volodymyr Kuzio, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine. We discussed investments, business, Ukraines recovery and planned activities in this context. In particular, we discussed the Ukraine Recovery Conference to be held in June in Berlin. In addition, the participation of business in this event. The German side is responsible for the participation of German business. The Cabinet of Ministers and, in particular, the Ministry form the list of the Ukrainian delegation. It is important to note that, first of all, the participation of companies that have a specific subject (goal) for participation is important - the need for b2b meetings for business development, signing an agreement with an investor, announcing an investment project, etc. At the event itself, the dimensions to be considered are human capital, EU integration, reforms, and infrastructure. The issue of investment and the participation of investment projects within the URC was also raised. It was agreed to cooperate between the EBA and the Ministry of Economy, within the framework of which the EBA will be able to propose investment projects from the Investment Map that can be presented in Berlin. We also discussed investment insurance and mechanisms offered by different countries for business. Mr. Kuzio emphasized that insurance mechanisms currently exist and work. The issue may be the cost of money or other aspects. Therefore, the Ministry of Economy invites businesses to share their experience in investment insurance through the EBA. In particular, the Ministry is interested in whether companies have tried to obtain insurance and what their experience in this regard is, for example, whether they decided not to take out insurance because of the cost or other obstacles. After all, the Ministry now needs to understand whether insurance is really that important - this information is necessary for further negotiations with partners. So if you have any thoughts on this matter, please share them with us, and we will pass them on to the Ministry of Economy. We thank Volodymyr Kuzio for the meeting and sincerely look forward to further dialog and cooperation!
