Daria Sichkar. Manager of the EBA Logistics Committee. The shipping should not be stopped without sufficient reasons for this, or else it may lead to a significant shortfall in Ukraine′s financial revenues to the budget and negatively affect the country′s image, as well as the flow of international investments. The possibility of changing the date for opening and closing the navigation due to meteorological conditions is provided in the Order №56 of the Maritime Administration On opening navigation on navigable hydraulic structures of the Dnipro River in 2020 of March 6, 2020. Therefore, the members of the EBA Logistics Committee call for the necessary changes to the Order to extend navigation on the Dnipro until the end of 2020, provided that favourable weather conditions remain. The Committee’s experts also draw attention to the importance of preventing the repair of locks during the navigation period or other reasons for shutting down the locks, except for objective reasons, particularly, the occurrence of adverse weather conditions. We hope that due attention will be given to this issue and the government agencies will take prompt response action to ensure the continuous operation of river transport!   Be the first to learn about the latest EBA news with our Telegram-channel – EBAUkraine.
