Business welcomes the adoption of the Law about Authorized Economic Operator on Customs

Today, on October 2, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the Law №1048, which anticipates the introduction of an authorized economic operator at customs similar to the one functioning in the EU.

Business definitely welcomes this decision. For more than 7-years there were a constant work on this document – in order to simplify customs formalities and to adapt national customs legislation to EU customs legislation. Therefore, we expect that the introduction of AEO will significantly optimize the customs clearance of goods for transparent and legal business, accelerate the passage of customs clearance while export-import transactions.

In addition, today the Government approved a resolution on the establishment of territorial bodies of the State Customs Service. Business also welcomes the creation of new customs of the State Customs Service and hopes that the newly formed offices will start to implement announced changes and will be able to provide the customs functions as a service.
