Business is concerned about recent events around the NBU
The European Business Association is concerned about the events that have unfolded around the NBU in the last few weeks.
Such situations send a very disturbing message to both business and investors. Also, they question the principles of objectivity and impartiality that are a must for a civilized European country.
Thus, ensuring the independence of the National Bank, maintaining macroeconomic stability and continuing cooperation with the IMF for Ukraine’s sustainable economic growth should be key priorities. This was one of seven priority steps from business to the new President of Ukraine, announced by the business community in April.
Therefore, the business calls on the responsible state authorities to react appropriately to situations similar to what is currently happening around the NBU, following the principles of fairness. Now, it is important to protect the country from the emergence of new negative factors that destabilize the economy, slow down investment activity and economic growth.
