The business community of the European Business Association in Odesa met with the management of Odesa Customs
27.12.2023 a constructive meeting of the business community representatives with the management of customs was held. The event was marked as an active discussion and resolution of important issues related to customs formalities in the region. The event was attended by Oleksandr Lazarev, Chairman of the Odesa Coordination Council, co-chairman of the EBA Customs Committee, CEO of Lamarin.
On the part of Odessa Customs, the following officials were present:
- Dmytro Zabovskyi, deputy chief of Odesa Customs.
- Valery Lukyanov, Acting First Deputy Chief of Odesa Customs.
- Oleksandr Kholopov, head of the department for ensuring the organization of customs control and clearance.
Also took part in the event:
- Halyna Vdovina, head of the Public Council under the State Customs Service.
- Viktor Berestenko, president of the Association of International Freight Forwarders of Ukraine.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the efficiency and transparency of the customs process, as well as the interaction of business with customs to facilitate and speed up customs clearance. The management of Odesa Customs listened to the constructive suggestions and comments of the business community, emphasizing the importance of partnership between the business sector and the customs authorities to achieve common goals.
One of the key topics of discussion was innovations in customs legislation and initiatives to introduce modern technologies and innovations to automate customs procedures and ensure greater efficiency and accuracy in the performance of duties by officials and other related structures. The meeting participants agreed on further exchange of information and regular meetings to improve cooperation between the business environment and customs. Such measures will contribute to the creation of a favorable and transparent business environment in the region.
