Business discusses practical aspects of UAV protection for facilities

29/ 05/ 2026
The European Business Association held a meeting dedicated to the protection of facilities against aerial threats within the framework of the experimental Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1506. The discussion featured the SHERIFF team, which presented approaches to organising multi-layered protection of business facilities against UAVs. Among the key topics discussed were: the functions that private operators may perform; how cooperation with relevant authorities can be organised; technologies that can be used to protect facilities, etc. Particular attention was paid to the architecture of a comprehensive security system, including acoustic detection, electronic warfare systems, interceptor drones, turret-based solutions, and the integration of separate elements into a unified command and control system. As noted during the meeting, there is no universal model or fixed cost for facility protection, since the final security architecture depends on factors such as geography, terrain, site area, threat profile, proximity to critical infrastructure, and the possibilities for integration into the broader response system. Therefore, a protection model should be developed following an audit of a specific location. At the same time, participants were presented with indicative CAPEX/OPEX models, examples of the cost of individual equipment systems, as well as approaches to outsourced support and operator assistance. Following the meeting, SHERIFF prepared a separate document containing examples of the “Security Dome” architecture, implementation stages, and indicative budgeting models. The document is available upon request.
