Business discusses key social reforms with the Ministry of Social Policy

  On 28 March, the European Business Association held a working meeting with Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine, Oksana Zholnovych. During the meeting, participants discussed pressing social issues and opportunities for businesses to contribute to their resolution. Key topics of discussion included: Social protection reform for people with disabilities Business engagement in the social insurance system Introduction of a funded pension system Corporate social responsibility A key focus of the discussion was the workforce shortage and opportunities for people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups to integrate into the labour market. The Ministry of Social Policy presented support programmes, including the municipal nanny service designed for parents from vulnerable groups. Participants also explored Ukraine’s potential to become a prosthetics hub. The Minister encouraged businesses to invest in innovation within this sector and leverage government support mechanisms for veteran employees requiring assistive rehabilitation devices, including prosthetics. At the end of the meeting, Oksana Zholnovych shared insights from the audit of social assistance programmes and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to optimising processes.
