Business discussed key environmental regulatory issues with the Ministry of Environmental Protection

  On May 14, 2025, an open meeting was held at the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with Svitlana Hrynchuk, Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, her deputies, and representatives of the business community. The topic of the meeting was: “Reforming Ukraine’s Environmental Sector on the Path to the EU: What Should Business Expect?”. Members of the European Business Association’s Committee on Industrial Ecology and Sustainable Development participated in the event. During the meeting, key environmental policy issues with significant impact on business operations were discussed. In particular, participants raised topics such as the implementation of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), the development and implementation of climate policy, the advancement of the waste management system, alignment of technical regulations with REACH and CLP requirements, and matters related to industrial pollution. The EBA expresses its gratitude for the invitation to engage in dialogue and the opportunity to present the business community’s perspective in an open and constructive format. We support continued cooperation with the Ministry to build a transparent, predictable, and effective environmental regulatory system in Ukraine.
