16/ 04/ 2026
The European Business Association took part in the final discussion of the Strategy for the Development of Ukraine’s wood processing and furniture industries until 2030. Following the meeting, participants agreed to submit the draft Strategy, along with the corresponding action plan, for approval by public authorities. The document provides for a comprehensive approach to sector development and consists of four key sections: a description of the challenges that necessitated the adoption of the Strategy; an analysis of the current state of the wood processing and furniture industries, including key trends and challenges; the definition of the goal, strategic objectives, tasks, and expected outcomes; the procedure for monitoring, evaluating implementation, and reporting on the Strategy’s execution. The objective of the Strategy is to form a coherent vision for the development of Ukraine’s wood processing and furniture industries by 2030. The document aims to ensure the sustainable use of forest resources, promote deeper wood processing, increase the added value of products, strengthen the export potential of Ukrainian enterprises, create new production facilities and well-paid jobs, increase tax revenues at various levels, and establish a competitive and stable domestic raw materials market for the industry. The Association’s experts were actively involved in developing the Strategy at all stages of its preparation. The European Business Association expresses its gratitude to the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine for the open dialogue, fruitful cooperation, and for taking into account the position of the business community during the drafting process.
